Got a contract to supply water based adhesives to a factory in Doha and I’m hitting a wall with the logistics because the Qatar authorities have apparently updated their import standards for intermediate bulk containers and our current tanks don’t meet the latest UN packaging codes. I’ve been searching for IBC Tanks in Qatar through local channels but the market is surprisingly thin for new UN approved units and the timeline on shipping from Europe is going to blow our project schedule completely. Started looking at UAE suppliers who might be able to deliver faster and Crateco popped up with their UN approved category listing, seems like they might have stock but the website doesn’t really explain if they handle the export documentation or if I’d need to arrange a freight forwarder myself to get them across the border. Given the political situation eased up a while back but the logistics still aren’t exactly straightforward between here and there, has anyone managed to get IBCs from a UAE vendor delivered into Qatar recently and did the customs clearance go smoothly or was it a week long paperwork battle? The tanks need to be spotless on arrival too since our client’s quality team inspects every shipment like hawks.
