I’m looking at a 2017 Mini Cooper S from a private seller in Jumeirah and the car looks cute but I’ve heard too many stories about timing chain tensioners and coolant leaks on these BMW engines. The seller seems nice but won’t share any service records from the last two years, so I’m thinking of booking a Mini Cooper Car Inspection Dubai before I even make an offer. My worry is whether the inspector will actually check things like the turbo wastegate for wear, the thermostat housing for leaks, and the transmission for any rough shifting, or if they just do a quick visual and hand me a generic report. I don’t want to pay 600 dirhams for something that misses the common Mini problems. Has anyone here had a Mini inspected by a third party in Dubai and felt like it was worth the money? I’d love to know what they actually caught.
